What about the children who are shot and killed daily due to gang violence? How about the families that are shattered due to drunk drivers? Where are their national headlines?

There you go trying to compare watermelons to pork chops again (apples and oranges are both fruit, and therefore much too close together to represent the stretch here.).

What does that have to do with soldiers? Do you even get that touting front page headlines of 12 soldiers dying in Texas is monstrous when the much greater number dying DAILY in the MIddle East barely get mentioned? ESPECIALLY because the ones in the Middle East are supposedly saving our country, freedom, and way of life from disappearing off the planet?

You are minimizing the significance of what happened in Texas. Yes, people die in war. However, the soldiers in Texas were not at war. They were killed by one of their own- a traitor.

Death is expected in war, just as death is expected in gang violence and drunk driving. It is all tragic and horrible. YOU are minimizing the significance of the betrayal that occurred at Ft. Hood. You are implying that these deaths are the same as someone who dies in the war. They are not the same. You are totally discounting the circumstances of the event. You are so intent on your quest for fairness that you don't realize that you are actually being unfair. So I ask you: How far do you feel the need to go in order to minimize what happened in Texas?

Losing any life for any reason is a tragedy. But people that lay down their lives for others are accepted and even revered. People that are slain for no good reason are just a tragic waste. People that are killed by traitors are news.

Thanks.

You said, "You will soon get tired of arguing..." Yep, I am, but those kinds of statements can not be allowed to go unanswered. If this website is typical, there are 5-10 lurkers for every poster. Most of what I post are for other's benefit, not the hard core Atheist/Liberal.

And that's a pretty cheap misrepresentation of someone else's comment Translate.

Quite right Bakerbug. The leftist response to this event is to attempt to divert attention away from the fact that a traitor murdered a lot of people in the name of his religiion. We are told things like "Its all the army's fault" or whatever excuse for mass murder is handy.
