Good idea to use low energy lamps to save money. But that will not make the least difference to the environment.

I am trying to ease my mother into them...they are making some good ones now that use daylight spectrum.
Didn't I read somewhere there is a problem with disposing of these types of lamps? Save energy and pollute the environment?

My spouse has a controled Glacoma (sp?) and is
not able to see very well with these bulbs. I
imagine that she is not the only one, so why
would you use something that renders parts of
your home "dark" to them
Considering they contain mercury that is a heavy metal and are to be disposed of in certain fashion - NO.
