Yes. Since I was 13, along with my sister, my dad and both grandfathers. It's sometimes discouraging how type 1 and type 2 get lumped together under the same name together, even though they are two totally different conditions that happen to have some of the same complications.
Starting this year, Medicare refuses to pay for the quantity of test strips my doctor has prescribed for me, because they use guidelines for type 2 diabetes, and apply them erroneously to type 1.
This country's health care system is beyond ridiculous.
A good example to refute those who say it isn't possible! If women can do it, men can do the same. I've worked in places (As I'm sure we all have), where men, but not women, were required to cut their hair on the basis that it was "unsanitary" and did not present a "professional image." Hogwash! Those are just excuses for perpetuating gender inequality.
