a) you're not actually disagreeing with the statement in the poll, you're disagreeing with the premise, which is not the same;

b) "your in the minority" - it's " y o u ' r e " - if you want people to take you seriously, you have to show that you at least understood the elementary school stuff;

c) Supporting the military is not the same as supporting war. And you're right, of course, that most people are against baby killing, so it's a good thing that's not what abortion is. This is what passes for argument from you these days - just misstate and misrepresent whenever possible so that people have to waste time pointing out where you fucked up, that way you don't have to actually contribute anything useful and valuable to the argument.

I need an example of Obama stating that the public "just isn't getting" health care. Should be easy if he is "continually" stating it, as you say. That strikes me as you finding offense where none exists, because you don't like the guy.

The self-executing rule is commonly done in cases where one body of Congress wants to vote on the same legislation the other body of Congress has drafted. Not contrived, not unusual. Republicans are looking for anything they can to stir up shit and this is just another example.

There's no contrived way being used to pass this. It will be a straight vote in the House, probably this evening. They are not using the self-executing rule (because GOP flipped the fuck out over it, something that's used all the time). The votes are there and it will pass. Sometime in the next few days, the Senate will reconcile to remove the state specific stuff and the bill will go to Obama's desk.

It's not that Obama knows better than you do, it's that he ran his campaign asking for mandate on health care, and he got one. That's what elections are for. When you say, "if you vote for me, I will do X", and people then vote for you, it's safe to presume they want you to do X.

It is true that a number of people, presumably including you, did not want him to do X, but those people expressed that view by voting for the guy who said he wouldn't do X. And he lost.

I've said it before. Elections have consequences. This is one of them.
