I think the mobile Internet is going to have a huge impact...but not from tethered and non generative "i"-devices. Look for combinations of your choices to emerge (e.g. android phone open source type things)
Great question...thanks! I tried to frame the question so as to include exposure to cultures which are outside of the "established" culture of the country as a whole (my idea of "foreign") With respect to the US, there is a mainstream or established culture and pockets of "other" cultures (examples, Italian, Chinese, Russian, etc) This is also true in places across the globe (London UK, ect.). I was not assuming any effectiveness, but was more interested in whether people feel that the exposure was positive (yes) or negative (no) to a child. I am especially interested in global perception variation. In looking back at your childhood, do you feel that the Italian speaking elders helped give you a perception of the world that was positive?
