The fact is Food Stamps are a form of welfare, when a person is on welfare they are in complete subjection to the authority they rely. If the nanny state says no soft drinks on our dollar, then they have the right to do it. The problem is when the nanny state props up certain industries over other industries, this is where food stamps could be used to control producers of food.
America isn't a country either, it's a continent (actually two, North and South). But many people refer the United States of America as just America. I would have to say USA in that case.
Hydrogen, though cheap, is very dangerous - electric cars sound good, but how do you power them if the power companies can't produce enough energy. For power companies to 'go solar' it will cost several trillion for each city to produce enough energy, plus very large areas of space since current solar production rates are so low. Also in places that the solar arrays are set up, if natural disaster strikes, it will cost big time to replace the cells and start again. Most power companies want to give up oil, but what are the real options, wind is temperamental a good option would be nuclear, but no one here is talking about that.
