The survey was commissioned by a church, and was carried out amongst respondents who claimed to be 'Christian' (I think, but not sure, they were all church-goers). I think it's pointing to the modern day phenomenon of picking and choosing which parts of the Bible to accept and which to ignore.
All current projections give them approximately 5 years, and assume a semi-catastrophic downturn in the fortunes of most the 'first world'. Probably India will peak first. But China will be very close behind.
What future risks and problems would be encountered by a child growing up without the outer part of their ears. Well, apart from there being nowhere to hang their glasses, of course.
