Well, I certainly think using a full size computer is the easiest, with a laptop next in line, but our young people are very comfortable with the smaller technology. As with any tool, there is an appropriate and inappropriate use. As an educator, I think that I need to use whatever tool-high tech/low tech-to teach and use that will benefit my students. Cell phones are not going away, and the growth in technology is not finished. I need to try to keep up! :)
Possibly, however texting in a structured lesson could be very useful. What about real-time information sharing with someone from a different country, or someone within your own country, but a different part of the country? Cell phones are like miniature computers, and can be used as such.

A beach in warm climates and an indoor pool in cooler climates.
