yes. the republican are waging war on the poor and middle class, exactly. the bush administration has been one long fiasco of changing the laws of this country to favor big business and corruptions to the detriment of the poor and the middle class.

i wasn't really attacking anyone. merely pointing out that from a certain perspective the quote is accurate. as i said i am totally perplexed by this god thing and find it rather hateful that there is a group of people who believe that i will be punished for that. Well, I'm not sure i agree with you that belief in god isn't a bad thing. The argument goes that believing in something without a provable basis leads to people who don't question and thus to a stupider populous. And honestly, from my personal experience i absolutely agree with this argument. However I do see the benefit that some people gain from personal belief. But i wonder if without religion such people might be able to find solace in community and personal strength as opposed to taking the path of surrender to a higher power.

I myself an a firm atheist and i would say the worst part about religious people in general is that they seem proud of their ability to believe in something without proof, which is exactly the thing that is so wrong with religion. Therefore these people are unfixable. It's just maddening from my perspective.

it's not that surprising. most americans are so ignorant they believe that there is an invisible sky wizard who watches over them and judges them. so obviously they would elect someone who believes he has the mandate of heaven.

i'll do you one better than that. how can christians think they are choosen by god when they worship this guy Jesus, idolatry anyone, whose religion, Judaism says that the chosen people were already chosen. there's a little cognitive dissonance there.
