Immortal was probably the wrong word to use. What I really meant was to be able to live through all of human history. As part of the immortality lets assume that you could also always pull the plug on yourself if you got tired of living. Assuming you didn't have to worry about the billions of years to follow, would it still be worth going back in time and reliving through the hardships in exchange for 20 - 30 thousand years of life?

I should have put an answer for both, but I think the deciding factor comes down to which hand you write with?

What about the X-files?

Let's assume physically happy and then after a year it dies quickly and painlessly. Would the extra companionship be worth the grand?

The even more crazy question is why do we give up five years of our lifespan to be out of shape?

Best is too high of a bar to set. If you said top 10%, I may have been persuaded to hit agree on this question.

There are a lot of experimental drugs that might save someone, but they are kept off the market. If you were dying and you had at least a 50/50 chance at life, it would be a no brainer to want to try one.

I knew that someone would respond with this argument :) It's nice to be able to stream content, but its not the same as having the big screen experience. It would be a hard choice if I really had to pick, but I think I love the internet too much despite my TiVo habit.

Lets say that you are relying on a single air tank because the mine is flooded. Each tank lasts an hour for one person and it will take 45 minutes to get rescued.

Hippo's are crazy dangerous, I bet on land or water they could destroy a lion. I bet she could even take on a whole pack. Check out the chompers on one of these things.
