I think we all have real friends. Using electronic means to communicate with them makes them no less real. When you see someone face-to-face, all you're 'seeing' is photons bouncing off the cells of their bodies. It's not a great deal different from the photons entering your eyes from a screen. There are many more sensory inputs for your brain to process when face-to-face, but it's no more or less 'real'.
But anyway, the question is really to find out which people prefer out of the given options (i.e., electronic communications). I intentionally didn't include face-to-face, telephone, or other forms of communication.
I write with my left hand. But I use my mouse in my right hand and I also favour my right foot (for kicking a ball etc.) and also use scissors with my right hand. So does that make me right handed, or left handed?

Here a are a few reasons:
1. If there's a power cut, your mobile won't last for long; a landline will keep on trucking even without power.
2. Freephone numbers are actually free on landlines.
3. Calls are much cheaper on landlines (we have unlimited free calls)
