My name is unusual but a real name. My mum wanted to call me and my brothers names that were real traditional names but were unusual so we weren't one of the 4 Rebeccas and Toms in our class.
There is no such thing as a "British" accent. Nor can Australian or Irish be included under such labelling. There kind of exists accent-less English, and you can describe any accent from England as "English", or any accent from Scotland, "Scottish", but please don't lump all accents that aren't from America as "British", it's irritatingly incorrect.
A bit of both. Things like floods are completely random. But our response to them is pre-determend by our genes and the influence of others (and their genes) upon us.
