The news is what the lamestream and other media tell you it is. Thanks to the internet we can get enough opinions, wild tales and outright lies to better make up our own minds. We are rarely told the truth by media or politicians about anything. Intelligent, interested people who have enough time on their hands to sort through all the clutter and spin sometimes get close.
I'd sure be in favor of leveling the playing field as you suggest but the bad news is that the 'big money players' will never let that happen. The good news is that while they can almost fully control who gets nominated they can't fully control who gets elected. That's why an informed electorate is so critical to keeping our country free. The bad news again is that far too many citizens aren't informed, don't pay attention and don't vote. Those that do vote often fall prey to the slick advertising and packaging of candidates put up by the 'big money' so the vicious cycle of electing crooks and incompetents from both political parties continues unabated.
