Well hello there. Hope you enjoy the site. Ideas, complaints and suggestions welcome - just click the "Contact us" link at the bottom of this page. Cheers!
I think the problem lies in the definition of "inappropriate" content; it's subjective. Most people are in agreement about what constitutes spam or hate speech, but beyond that there's plenty of content that's fine for some folks but is truly offensive to others.
That's the content that I'm hoping we can find a way to keep rather than delete. With tags and categories content could be sorted into the right bins, rather than deleted. I hope that makes more sense.
(We also keep in mind that people help us out by showing polls on their sites via the widget. We need to make sure we're not offending people on their sites.)
Hi lojeke, thanks for the question. Everyone who works on the site is listed at http://docs.ask500people.com/doku.php?id=about_us Often the community asks questions about the site or makes suggestions, which helps us make better direction/design decisions.

Hi dauguy,
I agree we have room for improvement here.

Thanks for the comments and discussion.
I'm thinking categories/tags could handle this nicely. If a question is racy it could be marked as such, so it would still be part of the site.
Perhaps some categories wouldn't show up on the main question list by default (eg. US election, 18+, etc)
It's on the todo list, we're just hard at work on something else right now. ;)
